Villa Rapolano is located in the amazing Crete Senesi. The characteristic landscape of Crete Senesi has been reproduced by many artists. The nature offers extraordinary colors: gray is the color of the clay, yellow is the sulphate and green is that of the wheat fields in spring, which turns yellow in the summer.
Since the Middle Ages, the area of the Crete Senesi was known as "Deserto di Accona" (Accona desert). Characterized by an erosion of the middle Italian countryside, situated in a region of Tuscany south of Siena.
The most typical local products are olive oil, white truffles and sheep`s milk cheese with typically taste of wild herbs. The "Terre di Siena" olive oil is one of the first Italian olive oils to be awarded the seal of quality D.O.P. (Protected designation of origin).
The 7 bedroom villa is surrounded by 6 hectares of beautiful garden and landscape with olive groves, fresh smelling fruit trees and aromatic herbs.

In this clay region with its endless horizons, you won't find a lot of rocks or stone. Almost everything is made of clay bricks, and the beautiful farmhouses that isolated on the top of a hills are distinctive as a result. Magnificent monuments mark the territory like cardinal points, from the Abbey of Monte Oliveto (with a marvellous cloister with 16th century frescoes) to the fortified medieval storehouse for wheat Grancia di Cuna, from the castle of San Giovanni d’Asso to the city walls of Buonconvento. But mason's stone and bricks meet harmoniously in Asciano,the historic chief city of this region, where you can admire the 14th century Sienese city walls side by side with the Romanesque architecture of the Basilica of Sant’Agata and the artistic treasures of Palazzo Corboli, a glorious medieval city palace that today houses a museum.
